Blog Update and May Photos

I have not been able to contribute as many posts as I would like to the blog this last month or so. Work, training for an ultra marathon, and production of End of Daze has taken much of my time and creative energy. In an attempt to keep the rhythm going, I put together some small galleries of my favorite photos I have taken in May 2023.

Flowers and foliage from around town is the theme of the first gallery here. Meandering around town with camera in hand is one of my favorite ways to pass time, explore the neighborhood, and get some light exercise. Flowers have been blossoming and they make for easy photos. Here are a few of my favorites from the last month. Click on the image below to advance the slide show.

I have not been mountain biking much lately, but I always end up with a few photos of bikes (mostly my own bike because I largely ride by myself). I have been taking an old, vintage, Soviet lens with me on my bike rides: the Jupiter 50mm f2. I love the dreamy quality photos that it produces, especially in nature settings. It is a highly unpredictable lens with crazy flares and soft focusing, but the images it produces are pleasing and artful.

Scenes from training for the Jemez Mountain Trail Run - I am planning to write more about running my first 53 mile trail run, but in the meantime, enjoy some landscapes that I snapped while out running.

The last few photos are photos from around town and include sculptures, architecture and an altar.

And that about wraps it up for May. I intend to get more substantial stories up in the next month or so. Stay tuned!
