A Day and A Night in TRC

The Land of Enchantment is full of strange communities and charming scenery. I recently took a road trip around central and southern New Mexico. I camped a bit and stayed one night in the unlikely named city: Truth or Consequences (TRC). The original name of the town was Hot Springs, but changed its name to Truth or Consequences after the NBC Radio show in the 1950s as a part of a competition. The small desert town is home to some 6,000 people and rests next to the Rio Grande and near the Elephant Butte Dam and its reservoir.

TRC is a strange town. At times, the city almost looks like a beach town. It is corky and colorful. There are abundant hot springs. Classic American drive-ins, vibrant graffiti, and rugged mountains characterize this unique town.

I had fun taking photos in and around town on some hikes. Enjoy the photos.
